MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: NEW SEASON FOR DOMINO
An outstanding start to the season for Domino, ruler of the Grand Prix of Qatar, raced on March 18 at Losail Circuit.
In Moto2 Domino conquered the entire podium, up to the sixth position. After Franco Morbidelli’s success of last year, this time shone Francesco Bagnaia: he got his first victory in Moto2, giving to the Sky Racing Team VR46 the first success of the season. After a perfect start from the third position on the grid, Pecco took the lead from lap one, maintaining the leadership until the chequered flag. Thrilling the fight with Lorenzo Baldassarri (Pons HP40), second by a tenth, followed by Alex Marquez (EG 0.0 Marc VDS). Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team) and Red Bull KTM Ajo Team riders Miguel Oliveira and Brad Binder finished close to the podium.
Extraordinary success also in Moto3 with the second place of Aron Canet (Estrella Galicia 0.0) and the third of the rookie Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Leopard Racing). Amazing weekend for Niccolò Antonelli (Sic58 Squadra Corse) too, poleman and fourth in race.
Next round is the Grand Prix of Argentina, scheduled on April 8th at Termas de Rio Hondo.
