MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: DOMINO SHINES AT JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA
First Grand Prix in Europe for the MotoGP World Championship, last Sunday at the Andalusian circuit of Jerez de la Frontera for the fourth round of the season. Another great weekend for Domino, with wins, podiums and excellent placings in all the three classes.
Outstanding success in Moto2, with the whole podium branded by Domino thanks to Lorenzo Baldassarri (Pons HP40), Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and Francesco Bagnaia (SKY Racing Team VR46). Perfect weekend for Pons HP40 rider, with the pole position and the victory at the end of a race ruled without hesitation from start to finish: this is his second win after the one at Misano two years ago. Fifth Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team), sixth Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and tenth Fabio Quartararo (Beta Tools - Speed Up Racing).
Domino is now even more leader of Moto2 standing with Bagnaia (73 points), followed by Baldassarri (-9) and Oliveira (-10).
Podium in Moto3 too, with the beautiful third position of Marcos Ramirez (Bester Capital Dubai) at the end of a very tough race. Alonso Lopez (Estrella Galicia 0.0) finished fourth close to the top three, followed by Juame Masia (Bester Capital Dubai), fifth, and Tatsuzki Suzuki (Sic58 Squadra Corse), sixth. Japanese Kaito Toba was ninth with Honda Team Asia.
Another success for Andrea Iannone and Suzuki in MotoGP: after Texas’s podium at Jerez the Italian rider got another third position in a race turned upside down by Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Dovizioso’ crash.
Next round with the MotoGP World Championship is the Grand Prix of France, scheduled on May 20th at Le Mans.
