MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 250 CLASS: SIMONCELLI ON THE PODIUM AND LOCATELLI FIFTH
30/08/2009 - Domino still picks up successes in 250 class thanks to Metis Gilera Team and its two riders; the young World Champion Marco Simoncelli and the veteran Roberto Locatelli.
On the American circuit of Indianapolis Simoncelli has conquered a splendid victory that reopens the games for the conquest of the world title: it deals with the fourth victory of the season, the second one consecutive, that arrivers after the affirmation on Brno track, where he has fought and won on Mattia Pasini.
After a good start the rider from Romagna has taken the command, in front of Hiroshi Aoyama and winning with great gap. With this victory Marco officially returns to the battle for the championship, with 27 points from the Japanese.
Great competition also for Locatelli, who has closed fifth behind Mike Di Meglio in front of Hector Barbera.
Next date with the MotoGP World Championship is on September 6th in Italy. |
